Moving further, we have the printer, user guide, power cord, and the HP 67 black and tri-color ink cartridges inside the package. Sadly, you don’t get to see a data cable inside.

Device overview and build quality –

As far as first impressions go, this cool gadget has a good build quality and is made entirely of plastic. It has a sleek design with a white and grayish color theme. The device measures about 17.02 x 14.21 x 5.2 inches, which makes it an ideal fit for most compact spaces.

There is no dedicated photo tray on this. However, you get a slider on the input tray for adjusting the paper size to match photo paper.

The device boasts a high-resolution scanner that can scan up to 8.5 x 11.7 in. As it is a flatbed scanner, you do not get to see the auto document feeder functionality.

Connectivity –

Setting up the HP ENVY 6055 –

First things first, remove the protective films from the HP ENVY 6055. In the next step, plug one end of the power cable into the device while plugging the other end into a wall socket. Unlike most other HP printers, the power button on the Envy 6055 is placed towards the back of the printer, just above the power socket. Gently press the power button. Doing this, you get to see a beautiful light glowing at the front.

Device overview and build quality –

The entire body of the Canon PIXMA TR8620 is made of hard plastic. On the quality side, the Epson Expression Home XP-4100 feels a tad better. The paper trays are flimsy and wobbly. Paper jams can be addressed easily with the rear accessibility.

The device feels a little heavier at 17.4 lbs. and also has a larger footprint. On the plus side, the device offers a beasty 4.2” touchscreen display. Though we had minor issues with the responsiveness and the touch sensitivity of the display, I would say the overall usability is good.

Device overview and build quality –

Despite being a cheap printer, the Brother HL-L2350DW still manages to have a decent build quality and design. Everything seems well built, including the sturdy paper trays. The drum unit and the toner can be accessed easily from the front, while there is a provision at the back for clearing paper jams.

The biggest bummer I see on the L2350DW is the non-detachable power cord. Brother could have thought of including a detachable one as it would be easier to replace in case of damage. It has a 2.0” one-line monochrome LCD, which I feel is nearly useless. At least I didn’t use the display screen after the initial setup.

Connectivity

On the connectivity side, it has Wi-Fi functionality with support for Wi-Fi Direct, so you can use it without having to use a router. Besides this, you also get to see the traditional USB 2.0 connectivity.

It lacks an Ethernet port, which most people might consider useful. On cloud support, it is compatible with most cloud print service platforms, including the most popular Apple AirPrint and Mopria Print Service.

Setting up the Brother HL-L2350DW –

The setup process for the L2350DW is fairly simple and doesn’t demand any special skills. Before you turn on the device, take the toner cartridge out of its packaging and carefully put it in through the front compartment. Load some paper into the tray provided at the bottom by gently pulling it out.

Now, power on the device by plugging one end of the main cord into the printer and the other into a wall socket. Press the power button on the device. Doing this should turn on the power indicator and the monochrome display.

Printing quality: This nifty accessory offers pretty decent print quality with rich overall details. The text documents are crisp and vibrant.

Cost-per-print: The toner cartridge on the HL-L2350DW offers a pretty good yield, making it more economical in the long run. Overall, the printer has an excellent cost-per-print value.

Opening the box, we see a user manual, a power cable, HP 65 black and tricolor starter cartridges, and the actual printer. You do not get to see any USB cables inside the package, which should be purchased separately.

Design overview and build quality –

For the price you pay, the HP Deskjet 3755 offers an okayish build quality, with the entire body being built of plastic. The device is offered in three color variants; the one we have here is HP’s signature blue and white variant.

The device also has a 1.1” LCD, which is barely useful, just like the one on the Brother HL-L2350DW. Like any other monochrome display, the viewing angles on this one are also pathetic. The control buttons on this device are tactile.

Connectivity –

On the connectivity side, the HP Deskjet 3755 offers a USB 2.0 port, support for Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct. There is no Ethernet port on this device. Speaking of cloud support, it can connect to the most popular cloud services, including Apple AirPrint and Mopria Print Service.

The setup process on the HP DeskJet 3755 is pretty straightforward. Power up the device by plugging the detachable power cable into the slot and pressing the power button. Doing this should turn on the power indicator and the display. Pulling the front-facing cover should give you access to the cartridge slots. Carefully place the provided cartridges in their place. The package arrived earlier than expected. It came inside the Canon’s ages-old red and blue-themed carton. Inside the box, we have a user manual, one black and color print head each, 3 x GI-21 Page Black or PiGmented Black, and one GI-21 ink bottle of cyan, yellow, and magenta each.

Design overview and build quality –

The design of the G3260 impressed me so much. It has a very stylish yet sleek design, with the entire body being made of hard plastic. On top, we have a printer with a flatbed size of 8.5” x 11”.

The top cover can be lifted, giving you access to the ink tanks and paper jams. Unlike the Brother HL-L2350DW, the Canon PIXMA MegaTank G3260 has a removable power cable.

Connectivity –

On the G3260, there is no Ethernet port. However, you will find a USB B port for wired connection. Besides this, you also get to see the Wi-Fi functionality with Wi-Fi Direct support. There is no USB cable provided in the box.

Setting up the Canon PIXMA G3260 –

It is fairly easy to set up the Canon PIXMA G3260 and get the first printout from your device. Before you proceed with the setup process, make sure to remove all the protective labels/stickers on the printer, as these can meddle with your printer’s performance and can even choke it in the worst case.

Plugin the power cable into the printer and press the power button on the top. As soon as you power the device up, you should be guided through the setup process. In our practical testing, the print speeds turned out to be 5 PPM for a black-only document, while the color document came out at 4 PPM. On the other hand, the photo printing time for a typical 4” x 6” took about 88 seconds.

Scanner: The scanner on this printer is a flatbed one with a scan area of 8.5” x 11” and has a resolution of 1200 DPI. As this is a flatbed scanner, you do not get to see ADF functionality. It doesn’t also do duplexing.
